Weapon sharpening

Post by Boris »

1) Next hit = crit hit
- You can sharpen Fencing/SMS weapons
- Next hit is automatically critical
- Restricted to 1-tile weaponry (swords, axes, etc.) to prevent one-hitting (i.e. sharpened halberd would mean automatical one hitting)
- PvP oriented feature

2) Boost to minium damage of a weapon
- You can sharpen any Fencing/SMS weapon
- (i.e.) If a halberd normally does 10-60dmg, sharpening boosts the minium damage to 30 - making the variance smaller: 30-60dmg.
- Can not sharpen religion blessed weapons
- Lasts for a long time (unlike option 1)
- Affects both PvM and PvP, but more of a PvM-oriented feature
- Can be considered as a non-religion weapon bless feature to balance non-religion PvM

option 1
even though option 2 seems tempting for pvm, but i'd rather have something new in pvp

Warriors do the sharpening, others can gain from it.

If it was Warrior only. I would go for 1 without a doubt. Number 2 is PvM and who the hell hunts with 65 healing?
But if others can gain from it, heh.

Still option 1 for me.

Warriors will play a new part with tanking and taunting in the future. That's a guy everyone wants in their PvM party.

Will any of this two sharpening options work on religion blessed weapons?

It's possible for both being restricted when religion bless is involved, but at the moment 1) may have a chance as it's limited to 1-tile weaponry.

2) is more of a gain for non-religion PvM.

hmmm
if warriors can sharpen every weapon, it's probably a very good tool for pvm
can they sharpen any weapon they want without any delay?or how would it work then?

why not give them a .sharpen crit and a .sharpen for average dmg and they choose whichever they want, when they want?

Depends eventually on the outcome.

If it's done by a tool - it should be as simple as click tool > click weapon > "Your weapon is sharpened" - with some restrictions so you can't sharpen in the middle of battle.
