Best merchant for you;

Post by Zaradon »

Simple poll, what do you think is the merchant you like to play in the next terms? ;

* Resource gathering
* Resource cost for making the goods
* Risk
* Economy/Income

Well, if course you may discuss facts here along the terms in a mature manner.

Thanks.

I had a GM smith a long long time ago, and loved playing him. I would never train one again though... All that running around and you need sooo much iron for training.

In my last player-incarnation I trained a cook because it was easy as hell (easyuo all the way). I think I'd go for a scribe next time, as I've never had any real experience with the class and there are some intresting things about it.

I have made my bowyer like 5 years ago and i was pretty much only one active at this time,so i could ask for bows and arrows whatever i felt is fair.Additionally we have 85% carpentry,i had nice income from that aswell.After come back to uo year ago i had customers willing to buy as many arrows as i could make so once again in short time i've earned a lot of money.Considering that gathering materials is piece of cake and no risk my vote goes for bowyer.

alchemist

no risk
you buy the regs
you sell the potions for a profit
they are NOT the best money makers as people tend to think they are. the thing, everyone needs their potions (gheals/stat potions)

i think all the other merchants have one of these. risk (tamer/smith) (smith has less risk or almost none at all due to friends, but whatever), lack of market or less profit (the others).
for some reason, i feel tempted to play carpenter/cook or some not so used merchant (no smith/tailor/tinker/tamer)

give me 3 more slots!!i probably wouldn't make more fighter/magic user crap, but i'd surely make some 3 merchants to sit around and craft and stuff. it's so nice to just sit back and not having to go out and hunt. (i've started to understand this when i was going through all the crafting skills on the way to heighten my alchemist lol)

voted for tailor because:
you need a fighter to get the hides/bones for you, so you don't get risks;
you simply make the stuff with hides/bones and then sell it;
probably the easiest merchant to get money, not sure.

also, do people still use scribes...?

I hate lazy merchants.

I have two boring merchants.
One of them is kinda restricted to cotton to be any good.
The other one is restricted to muling to be any good.
