Change to macro alarm rule

Post by Monad »

http://pangaea-world.dk/pangaea/rules/macroing

Old rules said:
Any use of programs or script attempting to cheat or alarm the automacrocheck will result in a total skill drop for the character. The 2nd time you are caught using such a cheat, all skills on your account will be dropped to 0.

New rules says:
Any use of programs or script attempting to cheat the automacrocheck will result in a punishment. Macro alarm is allowed as long as you're around to answer the macrocheck yourself within 5 minutes. Good example of cheating script is auto-disconnect during the macrocheck gump which usage results in a punishment.

Using a script to cheat the macrocheck: 14d jail + macroed skill dropped to 0 + stat drop (1st time)
Using a script to cheat the macrocheck: 30d jail + character wipe (2nd time)
Using a script to cheat the macrocheck: Account banned (3rd and final strike)

What was changed?
  • 1. Macro alarm usage allowed
    2. Updated and specified the punishments about cheating a macrocheck
Reason for the update:
Macro alarm scripts are too common and hard to supervise. Many players use them and get away with it, while many players don't use them because they are illegal. That's why we think it's more fair if we allow them for everybody because most important thing is you are around when the macrocheck appears and able to answer it within 5 minutes, not if you're watching the screen all the time.

Remember that cheating the macrocheck is still highly illegal and well supervised and logged by us, don't do it, macro fairly
